Business Development Assistant

TechBBQ is growing rapidly and have more than doubled in size from 2015 to 2016. And 2017 will be no different! We're massively scaling up the event and need two great Business Development Assistants to help us sustain and surpass our growth levels from last year. You'll be an integral part of the team managing the event and will report directly to the two CxOs. The positions are volunteer based (up to 10 hrs/week).


As Business Developer you will be part of driving the revenue optimisation and sales of TechBBQ, making sure that contracts with partners and partners are signed. You will work closely with the CxOs of TechBBQ, and we expect that you can go with the ball on you own when completing your tasks and fulfilling your responsibilities.

Your tasks include:

  • Corresponding to new potential partners (C20 and ambitious companies)
  • Answering enquiries from the above mentioned and existing partners
  • Lead generation and general revenue optimisation
  • Part of closing the deals and get them signed
  • Helping out other teams on an ad hoc basis - we're in this together!


You are: 

  • A go-getter and self-starter
  • A team player, but also understand how to work independently within the team
  • Entrepreneurial minded or just want to get to know the world of entrepreneurs.
  • You thrive in a hectic environment where the pressure’s on the closer we get to the event days and where your work day might change directions in the blink of an eye.

With experience/skills in:

  • Sales (maybe marketing related)
  • Cold calling/writing
  • Understanding of revenue optimisation
  • Lead generation
  • Understanding how Marketing & Sales play together
  • Negotiation (with support from CxO)
  • Fluent in English, speech and writing

We expect you to be part of the team starting ASAP and up until after the event in September. The closer we get to the event the more hours will be required, so evening and weekend work must be expected the last month - we require some flexibility from you and of course you can expect the same from us. The next two month are very impartant to us in term of sales and therefore your first-class effort would mean the World for us.
